The HaBaWaBa International Festival is the main event of HaBaWaBa world, but not the only one. Later than the tournament held in Lignano Sabbiadoro from June 19th to 26th, the city of Montreal (Canada) will host the 2nd edition of HaBaWaBa North America. The event – organized by DJ Global Wave thanks to the agreement with Waterpolo Development – will be held from July 6th to 10th at Parc Jean Drapeau swimming pool, where FINA World Championships 2005 took place, and will be attended by 29 teams: 19 squads for Under 13 tournament, 10 for Under 11. At HaBaWaBa North America there will be 17 Canadian teams, 10 teams from Usa, one from Hungary and one from Barbados.

Thanks to the partnership with Canadian Olympic Committee and their school program, 7 Canadian Olympians will be at the pool every day and interact with the kids, show them their sports and take photos. Waterpolo will be represented by Usa International Tony Azevedo, Canada former coach Dragan Jovanovic, Canada former International Simon Dechamps and Canada female team Sandra Lize. But HaBaWaBa North America will host synchronettes  Elise Marcotte and Dominika Kopcik and penthatlete Joshua Riker-Fox.

“HaBaWaBa North America is trying to create a real Olympic environment for all athletes – said Dragan Jovanovic, owner of DJ Global Wave – and one of the components of that goal is hiring ex Olympians to organize the Festival and help us run it successfully”.
