After the success of the 10th edition of the HaBaWaBa International Festival, Waterpolo Development keeps renovating their events to make them more efficient in order to the development and growth of waterpolo. In 2018 WPD will present some important innovations for both HaBaWaBa International Festival and the HaBaWaBa Plus U13.

HABAWABA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2018. The 11th edition of the HaBaWaBa International Festival, as usual dedicated to U9 and U11 players, will take place on June, from 17th to 24th, at Bella Italia EFA Village (the new name of the Villaggio Ge.Tur), in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy: the new management of the village is renovating facilities and services in order to improve the quality of the Festival. The registrations will open on November 8th, 2017. Among the innovations, HaBaWaBa International Festival will have a new format that will soon be published on our website. It will increase the number of games for every team: each U11 team will play 9 games minimum and 13 games maximum; each U9 team will play 9 games minimum and 11 games maximum.

A new very important rule has been inserted in the game regulation: during the game’s situation in equal numbers, an attacker can’t stay in the centerforward position (in front of the goal and inside the 5 meters area) for more than 5’’. That new rule was already tested in HaBaWaBa Plus U13: it aims to increase the dynamism and the speed of the game and, at the same time, to help the technical development of the little waterpolo players.

HABAWABA PLUS U13 2018. The 3rd edition of HaBaWaBa Plus U13 will be held on June from 24th to 30th at Bella Italia EFA Village, in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. The major innovation – as we have already revealed here on our website – is the birth of a tournament dedicated to girls beside to the male competition. The registrations for both of the tournaments of HaBaWaBa Plus U13 will open on November 15th, 2017.
