In its 10th edition the HaBaWaBa International Festival was passion, joy, love for sport and fair play again. However emotions can’t be measured, but everything else can. And the numbers of the HaBaWaBa International Festival 2017 are simply impressive. Data by Delta I.S.O. – the company that was in charge of tournament registration and informatics – confirm that the 10th edition marked a plenty of new records, being the greatest HaBaWaBa event ever. Let’s take a look at those numbers, going further the fact of 132 participating teams from 14 different countries.

Little athletes were 1.529 (1.446 in 2016), accompanied by 227 coaches and team managers and 1.699 family members and fans. Adding 71 guests and 85 staff members (including referees and officials) we have 3.611 people involved in the whole HaBaWaBa International Festival (in 2016 they were 3.505): it’s the greatest youth waterpolo event in the world.

The increase of those numbers was followed by a further organizational improvement that satisfied the participants, as we will report their comments on our website in the coming days.

To understand the organizational effort sustained by Waterpolo Development, just think that at HaBaWaBa International Festival 2017 were played 631 official games in just 6 days, having an average of more than 105 matches per day. During the whole event, 6.326 goals were scored. And also: counting breakfasts, lunches and dinners, Villaggio Ge.Tur served 36.876 meals to the athletes, coaches and team managers of the teams.

Those data confirm how HaBaWaBa represents the most important project in the world to develop waterpolo: anyone who has set foot in the Festival will certainly be more in love with our extraordinary sport.
