The countdown can start. Four months are still missing to the 9th edition of HaBaWaBa International Festival, but you can already tell that the event organized by Waterpolo Development could be a new great success: 96 teams have registered for Under 11 tournament and 24 squads have asked to join the Under 9 tournament.

So we will have 120 teams that will play from June 19th to 26th at Villaggio Ge.Tur, in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy). An extraordinary venue, chosen by Waterpolo Development to be the perfect scenario for the greatest sports event in the world dedicated to kids from 6 to 11 years old. HaBaWaBa International Festival will increase the number of teams, going from the 114 of the 2015 edition to the current 120.

More kids will get to Lignano Sabbiadoro to play “the game of the ball in the water”. They will be supported by coaches, parents and fans: that little italian town will be crowded by over three thousand waterpolo lovers. Teams will come from 12 different countries of the world: France, Montenegro, Romania, Hungary, Russia, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Egypt, USA, Brazil and Italy.

A lot of clubs will join the HaBaWaBa International Festival for their first time. Among those we’ll have French Cachalots de Six-Fours Les Plages, Monaco Natation and Asvo L’Isle-Adam, Hungarian Szolnok, Pecs and YBL Waterpolo Club, that already attended in January to HaBaWaBa Plus U13. The US will have a new representative: the Californian Newport Beach Waterpolo. Egyptian Gezira will double its teams, coming to Lignano Sabbiadoro with two squads for each tournament, U11 and U9.

At HaBaWaBa International Festival 2016 – organized with the patronage of CONI and the support of FIN, FINA, LEN and COMEN – we’ll see the comeback of two clubs who missed the 2015 edition: Russian Club of Olympia, coming from city of Perm’, and Romanian Steaua Bucarest.

Once again Villaggio Ge.Tur will become the young waterpolo capital for a week: kids from all over the world will be all together in one place to share the value and the fun that only sports can give.

If you are interested in joining HaBaWaBa International Festival 2016, hurry up! Both tournaments have already reached the maximum number of teams admitted to the competition, but now the waiting list is open: if any registered team should renounce to take part to the Festival, that will be automatically replaced from one of the waiting list teams.
