Club Nataciò Barcelona will be at HaBaWaBa Plus U13, tournament starting tomorrow at Villaggio Ge.Tur in Lignano Sabbiadoro. We asked coach of Catalan team Nil Martin what he’s expecting from the Waterpolo Development event.
Mr. Martin, why did your team join HaBaWaBa Plus U13?
We want to join Habawaba because is a big experience for the kids. They can grow up a lot in this kind of tournament, meet a lot of friends and play waterpolo against strong teams from other countries. This is really important for them. If you want to play great matches, this is the perfect tournament.
What do you know about HaBaWaBa world?
I came to HaBaWaBa International Festival in 2011, when I worked for Mediterrani. We get the U11 final, but we lost against Vouliagmeni. Barcelona would join the next edition, but on June we have Catalan championship.
Has your team already joined an international waterpolo tournament?
Yes, my team played a lot of internationals tournaments like BCN WP U10, Tomo Dubrovnik, Makarska Tournament and Be Water My Friend. I guess HaBaWaBa Plus U13 is a very big event and it will be one of the best in the World, as Tomo Dubrovnik that is really good too.
What do you expect from HaBaWaBa Plus U13?
We expect to do a lot of games, to know other waterpolo ways of playing and to compete with strong teams from other countries: that’s really good and important for my kids and me. My players are really happy and excited to come to HaBaWaBa Plus because they can play with great teams and meet new friends.
Waterpolo Development is trying to develop love for waterpolo by that kind of events. Do you think that is a good way?
I think this is the best way for kids, parents and coaches to fall in love with waterpolo. This kind of tournaments and events are very important for waterpolo to grow up.
